WELCOME TO THE HANDLE BAR!

The atmosphere of world-class cycling has been captured at the Handle Bar Tavern at the Dunc Gray Velodrome. A venue to meet with friends in a relaxed setting with all facilities provided.

The Handle Bar features: A modern bar and lounge area complete with all sports TAB facilities; a high-quality Bistro and outdoor dining area with combined seating for 600, and a take-away bottle shop.

Theming is the key to the design with giant-size action pictures of world class cyclists; the extensive use of vibrant colour to reflect the nylon shirts and helmets of the racing cyclists, the subtle use of metallic silver spokes above the bar as well as in the ceiling and entrance area and the bright red neon, with the words ‘Handle Bar’ topping an obelisk on the Velodrome roof to direct people to the entrance.

One of the attractive highlights of the development is an outdoor dining terrace for day or night use, seating 100. The terrace, accessed by full glass doors, and with colourful shade awnings, overlooks the Velodrome’s Criterion track and wetlands with the cycling track weaving through beautiful bushland.

Decor in the well appointed bar and bistro, lounge and other features captures the excitement and environment of a race cycling venue. The great action photos of Australian cycling stars racing, the aim being to capture movement and energy in the Handle Bar.

Good food is a feature of the sparkling Forks Bistro, with snacks available form the bar at other times.

Steaks, seafood, burgers and salads together with an appetising dessert menu and a selection of cakes for people preferring a light coffee snack is certain to appeal to diners at the Velodrome.
